Parable for our time …

There once was a teacher who had her students submit their
homework by putting it on a heap on her desk, which was
right in front by the blackboard.

And there was a student who picked a random homework from
this heap every day and went down the hall to
the photocopier. He copied the randomly selected homework
and put his name on the copy. He then put the original
and his copy on the submission-heap.

When asked why he did this, he said that the
photocopier was just a tool, which made him
at least 10 times more productive at homework,
and that it was just the wilfull ignorance of
the other students that made homework
so difficult for them.
